Sports Massage

The prime purpose of Sports Massage Therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. Above all, it can help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether you are an athlete, ardent keep-fitter or a once a week jogger. This treatment is not just for the sports person: anyone can benefit from Sports Massage, including people in physically demanding jobs and those not quite so obvious (occupational, emotional and postural stress may produce many similar characteristics to sports injuries).

Sports Massage tends to be deeper and more intense. It is based on the various elements of Swedish massage and often incorporates a combination of other techniques involving stretching, compression, friction, toning, and trigger point response techniques.



Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage is one of the most effective and readily available ways to prevent and treat muscle injuries, pain and soreness. It is based on the fact that soft tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) respond to touch. Muscles not only move our joints, they stabilize them, and they provide amour for the internal organs. Minor problems with these functions cause more pain than most people realise. Clients come for Remedial Massage for many reasons including pain as a result of specific injuries (whiplash, falls, sports injuries, etc.), RSI (repetitive strain injuries) and other work-related problems and postural (structural) alignment problems that sometimes go back to childhood. Assessment and massage techniques are employed to treat both deep and superficial tissues to bring about pain relief, correcting and normalizing the body’s muscles and soft tissues.


Aromatherapy massage is a warming, relaxing and therapeutic therapy using specially selected and combined essential oils added to an organic carrier oil. Your skin absorbs the nutrients and healing benefits from the oils, whilst the aroma when inhaled sends relaxing and healing messages to the brain. Different oils have different benefits and a highly qualified Aromatherapist can select oils based on each individual client’s needs. The massage itself is very gentle using repeated techniques and movements to encourage/boost circulation, releasing toxin build up naturally.

Indian Head 

Indian head massage is an extremely relaxing treatment involving the massage of the head, scalp, face, neck, shoulders and arms. The pressure points on the face are also gently stimulated and stroked. This treatment can be provided in a seated or laying down position. Any essential oils blended with a carrier oil are safely selected and chosen based on each individual client during consultation and bearing in mind your skin type and needs, particularly for your face and scalp areas. This treatment can also be provided without oils if the client prefers.

Hot/Cold Stone 

Hot/Cold Stone Massage Therapy melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness, increases circulation by enabling the blood vessels to expand from the heat and improves metabolism. Used in conjunction with holistic body massage movements and techniques or Reflexology, Hot/Cold Stone Therapy allows the therapist to apply heat and deeper pressure to access deeper muscle tissues, pressure points or foot reflexes comfortably. Cold stones are used on specific meridian points of the body providing the client with a relaxing contrast of temperatures. This therapy has a sedative effect that can support the relief of chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation.
